If we would tell someone something, that someone might just
question us about the source of our information or belief.
As to that source, we might respond with the ambiguous reply:
"It's in the Word."
Their response might then be: "What 'word?'"
Our answer perhaps would then be: "The Word of God."
Their possible reply: "Which word of God?"
We may continue with: "The Bible."
Their follow-up could consist of an elaboration request:
"Which bible?" There are many
English translations of bibles discrepant against one another."
At that point, we would have to delve into
hopefully-knowledgeable expositions describing variant Greek
texts of - let's say - the New Testament....which Greek
texts themselves are also significantly discrepant (and I
mean seriously discrepant) against one
another.
The HOLY BIBLE itself states: "The word of the Lord abides
forever." That is true not simply in the sense of its
ethereal or metaphysical aura, but in real and down-to-earth
physical existence.....bit by bit and piece by piece (i.e.
word by word)......conveyed from God to human authors by
whatever languages (or "tongues") both in spoken word-of-mouth
and in written alphabet/word/sentence form, and preserved
(hopefully 100% intact) from inception down to the present
time - whether recorded on mountain stone, papyrus, paper,
whatever.
All that - despite heretics who have dishonestly attempted to
distort such -- whether in stupid carelessness and
ignorance, or in deliberate and demonic subversion and
deception.
Now, we cannot have it both ways - whether
we encounter different English translations of - let's say -
what is purported to be the New Testament of The HOLY
BIBLE....or encounter different Greek texts alleged to be THE
one-and-only accurate and infallible New-Testament Text of
The HOLY BIBLE.
We either have to stop at a red stoplight, OR go through. We
either have to go at a green stoplight, OR stop. We
cannot go backwards and forwards at the
same time. We cannot have day while
we have night. Either we are living OR are dead. Those
are black-and-white situation - with NO shades-of-gray
compromises.
To wit:
The RSV, NASV, NIV, ESV, CEV, NCV, TEV, etc. English
new-testament "bible" translations [as a whole] are
profoundly discrepant against the KJV, NKJV, KJ21,
and Wesley New-Testament translations [as a
whole].
Digging deeper into the Greek-texts basis for those groups of
English translations, we note that the United
Bible Society Greek NT (3rd edition) [and why was
there more than ONE edition?] and
[and?] the [additional?] Nestle-Aland Novum
Testamentum Graece (26th edition) [and how many more
other confusing editions will there be, since the
first one and subsequent inadequate others were
obviously errant and defective?]......are
SERIOUSLY discrepant [individually and as a
group] against the Scrivener Trinitarian Greek Text,
which ultimate synthesized perfect [Holy-Spirit-inspired]
Text is in obvious accord with the scholarly and noble prototype
works of Erasmus, Beza, Elzevir, and Stephens - all of whom
discovered and assembled what they [as genuine and honest
Christians] were convinced were autographs-concordant Text
handed down from the Apostolic authors of our Lord Jesus Christ
through the Jerusalem-based Church of Antioch and others mentioned
in the New-Testament book of Acts.
The following are only a mere small sampling of the numerous instances of intolerable incompatibility, all of which involve vital doctrines of Christ Jesus our Lord:
